Meet Hannah Vernon

Whether you’re here by accident or in search of knowing more, I hope my work has resonated with you in some tangible way. Over the last six years, I have been digging deep to find what makes me feel most creatively inclined. In weddings and portraits, I have come to approach my clients from a journalistic perspective. I believe photos hold their utmost value when you are yourself, present, and actively in relationship with the people around you.

I find that many people are drawn to the idea of being enough as they are for photos; they feel burdened by the culture of performing and curating for the camera. I want to encourage you in this: your wedding, your family, your relationships— they are full of beauty all on their own, and it’s abundant. My deepest desire is to find this beauty, photograph it, and share it so that it may be celebrated for years to come.

I’m currently based in Portland, Oregon, and I do travel. If you feel seen by this approach, I would love to have a conversation with you about photographing your wedding or your family.

FAQs

Where are you located? Do you travel?

I am located in Portland, Oregon. I am booking for 2026 all over the PNW. I am always willing to travel outside of my local areas for weddings or sessions. I frequent North Carolina, as that is my home state.

What kind of experience do you have?

I began my photography career in church ministry, which continued for about three years. After graduating college, I decided to take a more personal & artistic approach by taking photos of couples, which turned into weddings. I then discovered film photography and fell in love with the hands-on process. Three years later, I have been able to find my niche and refine my style into what it is today. To sum it up: about 6 years.

How do I know if we are a good fit?

Upon inquiring, we will set up a time to talk over your vision and any questions you might have. I will explain my approach and ask about your story & creative needs, and from there, we can figure out if I’m the best option for you!

I see it this way: we are a good fit if you desire to see the character of your wedding through a journalistic perspective. I do not curate moments based on inspiration or another photographer’s work. Your wedding day is unique to you & the people in your life, and I don’t think it gets more beautiful than that.

What kind of film do you shoot with?

I shoot both medium format and 35mm film.

How much do you charge?

The average wedding client investment is $4000. I offer a few wedding packages, which all include both digital and film photography.

My husband is a documentary wedding filmmaker if you’d like to book us together. See his work at WeddingsByHudson.com.

Portraits of couples, engagements, and families begin at $400.‍ ‍
